Ah Winter!
Winter continues! We have had small snows, but two a week. The temps
are down so it doesn't melt. The beauty of the snow is here, without the
roads being bad to drive on. It seems we only get snow on the days that I
have to be outside on the roads. Oh well, it's winter! Our son is in Kansas
City, Missouri and it's been in the 70's. Just not right!!! My brain and my
body need the four seasons to function correctly. Last week I did get some
cabin fever, after a tummy bug, and then snow, we were trapped inside for
a week. I found myself at the garden center buying potting soil and seeds.
I did learn that January is not a very good time to get a variety of seeds.
I had great intentions, but still have not planted them. Maybe tomorrow
while we are waiting for this snow to melt off the roads. Ah winter!

Seattle 2009
We had this rare family picture taken at the marina in Seattle, Wash. It was 2009, but it seems only yesterday. This is of my daughter and her family, Sam, and me of course. A lot has changed since then. Ah how time flies!!!

My Studio
My studio is in a desperate need of paint. It's about 90 years old with cedar shingles that just don't like to hold onto paint. We painted it when we first moved in but even good paint with primer didn't hold. Now it's in various stages of deterioration, needs scraped and sanded. This old woman with shoulders that are not very strong, just can't clean it off.
I found this photo and would LOVE to do this with the building. Not too
much possibility that Sam would agree with this color. He did agree to
letting me make it pink, but I think it should be a bit softer. This is soooo
awesome though.

New Birdies
These two birds are at my feeder. I can't remember ever seeing them before. What a special treat! Love the birdies!! I think this first one
is a Junco.
Yellow throated warbler...but I see little yellow on my bird. It looks just like this though. Must be a drab female.

Inspiring Quote
I got this quote today from my daughter's Blog. It just is so very true so
I stole it for my own Blog. Thanks daughter!!!
"This is an absolute necessity for anybody today. You must have a room,
or a certain hour or so a day where you don't know what was in the news-
papers this morning, you don't know who your friends are, you don't know
what you owe anybody, you don't know what anybody owes you. This is
a place where you can simply experience and bring forth what you are and
what you might be. This is a place of creative incubation. At first you
might find that nothing happens there. But if you have a sacred place use
it, something eventually will happen." Joseph Campbell

Memories Revisited in London
In 2009 we visited London on the way to India. One of my favorite spots was the Tower of London. I hope to get back some day and
actually tour the entire place. Being a big fan of British movies, I am now aware of just how old the place is. Amazing that it's still standing.
This is the view as we were driving over the London Bridge on top of one of the red tour buses.
Of course, what is a trip to London without a photo of Big Ben? How awesome!
Jordan and me in Trafalgar Square. It was my first sight of one of the old
cities of Europe. We have no idea living in such a young country.
Nursing School in Washim, India
My first trip to India was in 2005. This is a photo of me and a friend
helping to break ground for a new nursing school in Washim, India.
In 2009, my husband, son, and I returned to Washim and found the beautiful nursing school that had been built. What a thrill to see this!!!

Frustrations!!!!
The new year of 2015 is starting with way too many frustrations! I have
put out prayer to my team for my ministry with the prison women. The
"system", which is actually one man, wants to stop us from having the
women come to our weekly Celebrate Recovery meeting. I have seen
them grow in leaps and bounds from this ministry, and now there are
threats to keep them from attending and replacing it with a secular AA
meeting. Non-believers just don't get it. We do the 12 steps with the Lord.
We define our higher power and use scriptures to back it up. So, I'm very
frustrated, but my "power prayer team" is on the job, and we are asking
for God's will, so we know it will work out. Meantime, FRUSTRATING!!!

Good Advise!!!
This is the best advice anyone can ever get. God created us each as
a one of a kind person. No one has a right to make you into something
you are not. Change, and improvement are all part of life, but at our own
pace, and as we choose. Be yourself!
